In this Artificial Intelligence blog, I will be answering a few questions like “programming languages used?” or “AI applications”.
Artificial Intelligence(AI) is a branch of computers used to build intelligent machines that act like humans. For example, they can walk, think, and even read like a human.
Let’s get started.
AI provides machines the ability to reasoning, problem-solving, and generalized learning.
This ability is built using mathematical functions and algorithms.
AI bots are programmed to analyze the input data.
We all use AI in our daily lives in some or another way. For example, Google, Siri, etc. We’ll discuss AI applications as well. Read till the end.
AI is a fundamental risk to the existence of human civiliation.
Why Artificial Intelliegence? How is it benificial?
AI is being used to program websites and apps by combining symbolic reasoning and deep learning.
It can help us in Healthcare, Cyber Security, Banking, and more. When we reach the stage of ASI (Artificial Super Intelligence), it’s harder to imagine how it is going to change our lives.
Programming Languages used in AI
1. Python – The most preferred language for Scientific Computing, Machine Learning, and more. Libraries like NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, etc are used.
2. R – It is an object-oriented language similar to Python.
3. Java – Java can be used for AI projects because of its versatility.
4. Julia – It is a dynamic programming language.
5. C++ – This language always has a mark in robotics and machine learning.
Few more languages like Scala, Haskell, Lisp can be used as well.
How do I learn Artificial Intelligence?
Well, there are 2 ways to do this. The first one could be getting a master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Or the second option can be learning everything on your own, build a good network and learn from other engineers. What are some AI Applications and their use in daily life?
IBM AI is used in more than 230 health care organizations for medical diagnosis.
Google’s eye doctor is another one that can identify diabetic retinopathy.
2. Search Engines:
This could be the most common and well-known example for AI i.e, Google search engine.
For instance, if you search for some stuff like smartphones or a cafe near you, do you know how google gives you the best results according to your need? This is also where AI comes in. It collects your data and finds the best suggestion for you and gives you the best results based on your search.
3. Social media:
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. apps use AI to tag people, find spam, and much more.
4. Virtual Assistants:
Virtual Assistants like Google Assistant, Siri, Alexa are also built using AI. They use speech recognition and add a human touch. They can make calls, send a message, book appointments, and much more.
5. Super Cars:
You might have heard about Tesla’s self-driving cars right? These cars implement image detection, deep learning, computer vision in order to perform in an intelligent way. These cars can detect any obstacles and drive safely.

What are the stages of Artificial Intelligence?
Alright. So there are three stages of AI(Artificial Intelligence) you need to know before starting the learning.
1. Narrow or Weak AI
ANI (Artificial Narrow Intelligence) is the stage we have achieved. Machines have the capability of doing a specific task only.
They cannot perform multiple tasks. For example, if you tell a spam-filtering machine to walk towards the room and get a book, it cannot do so. This is because of ANI.
2. General or Strong AI
AGI (Artificial General Intelligence is the ability of a machine to perform any intellectual task that a human being can.
But still, there arrives a problem. Although these machines can perform multiple tasks, they do not have reasoning ability.
Yes, I am talking about the simple reasoning things that a human does. To understand this clearly, let’s see what is the next stage.
3. Artificial Super Intelligence
ASI (Artificial Super Intelligence) is the time when computers will surpass humans.
In a lot of science fiction movies, series we have seen how AI takes over the world. This is when AI learns to reason, think, etc. like humans.
This will take time but experts have predicted that we will reach the stage of ASI by 2040.
Until today, we are on the stage of weak AI.
Artificial Intelligence vs Machine learning vs Deep Learning – Are they same?
People often tend to think that machine learning, artificial intelligence, and deep learning are the same. Let me clear this misconception.
Artificial Intelligence is the science of getting machines to mimic the behavior of humans.
Machine Learning (ML)
It is a subset of AI that focuses on getting machines to make decisions by feeding them data.
ML allows machines to learn from their experiences and make predictions.
The term Machine Learning was first coined by Arthur Samuel in the year 1959.
Basically, there are three types of machine learning: supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning.
Algorithms like Linear regression, Classification and regression trees, Native Bayes, K-nearest neighbor, etc. are used in machine learning.
Now let’s read about Deep Learning.
Deep Learning (DL)
A subset of Machine Learning that uses the concept of neural networks (biological neurons) to solve complex problems.
It uses neural networks to simulate human-like decision-making.
Deep Learning models are capable to focus on correct features by themselves, requiring little guidance from the programmer.
These models can partially solve the dimensionality problem.
